Jedi Costume - Inner Tunic

Intro | Inner Tunic | Outer Tunic | Tabbard and Obi | Belt | Robe

The inner tunic is made from a very light material. The texture has a slight crinkle to it so that it resembles Obiwan's outer tunic, but not quite. I purchased it at Joann Etc, and it was only $2.99 a yard. I purchased 6 yards to be safe.

I decided to make the inner tunic almost like a normal shirt. Based on a rare picture of Ewan backstage without a full costume, I decided to tuck the inner tunic into my pants. Also, I was having problems with making the "V" in the collar stay put, so I installed a few snaps to hold it in place. Perhaps, to be more authentic, I could install mini-ties, but nobody sees this part of the costume anyway, so it really didn't matter at the time. Perhaps later.

The final think I need to do on this piece is to sew some elastic string into the sleeves at the wrist to give it some grip. Right now, it easily slips past my wrist if I hold my hands at my sides.
