LCD Projectors 101

An artist I AM NOT! However, I can trace very well and I can paint within the lines. ;) Here is the secret to doing this project. I used Microsoft Office 2000's Clip Art Gallery to find the animals I wanted. Of course, you could use any graphics you can find online. The big key here is the use of a LCD projector! I was able to borrow one from work! The result? Projecting Clip Art animals onto the wall. I just moved the projector around and resized the graphics on the laptop to get the animals the size I wanted on the wall.

Fun With Tracing

Yup, you got it! From here on out, all I did was trace the animals that were projected on the wall. Of course, my big bald head kept getting in the way, but I managed. :)

Which Animals??

There were sooo many to chose from, and it was hard to find good pictures of each of the animals I did want. What we wound up with was: Gorilla, Lizzard, Zebra, Hippo, Rhino, Pink Flamingo, Elephant, Gazelles, Tiger, Giraffes, Lions, and an Owl. If I ever get time, I want to add some Monkeys and maybe a few Water Buffalo.

Painting and Outlining

I used some "oops paint" from Home Depot as well as some acrylic paints from Michaels Crafts to paint the animals. Some animals took a few coats of paint so the green behind them didn't bleed through, and some animals had a few different colors. After they all dried, I used a black Sharpie marker to outline all the animals and give a few accents.
