African Safari Baby Room Mural

4/28/2003: Although I had started almost a month ago, I finally got up some pictures about Ashley's African Safari room, which is a full-room mural for our new baby! Check it out here. For anyone who is interested in doing one of these for your little boy or girl, I tried my best to describe how I did it. ANYONE could do this, and it's a LOT of fun!

Happy Birthday Ashley Anne

4/5/2003: Ashley Anne was born on Saturday morning at 8:38am. She weighed in at 8 pounds 14 oz and was 21" long. She was exactly what the doctors have been telling us for 3 months... "You're gonna have a big baby!"

Sharon did an awesome job during the labor! She was able to use her HypnoBirthing method to get through 27 hours of labor by herself. At 3am she was exhausted, so after a little help from an epidural she was able to get her second wind and keep going. At about 8:15am Sharon started pushing, and by 8:38am we were blessed with Ashley Anne! I was absolutely overwhelmed with emotion the moment Ashley was born and when I looked over at Sharon she had a huge smile on her face as if the last 32 hours had never happened.

I'd also like to thank my sister Jan, who helped us both through a long night of labor and the delivery. She was also able to capture some incredible pictures as it was happening, so we now have pictures of this event that we can treasure forever!

3/2003: Well, this pregnancy sure has gone fast. The due date is April 11th which is right around the corner. We're both really excited to be new parents. We had some beautiful pictures taken while she was pregnant so we can remember this wonderful event. This picture is simple, yet we really like it.
